Believe and Achieve Child and Family Foundation

Founder

Believe and Achieve Child and Family Foundation Ltd was founded in 2026 by Ruby Challita (Occupational Therapist & Yuin Walbunja Woman).

Ruby chose to become an occupational therapist after witnessing the life changing impact early intervention had on her own family. Seeing how the right support at the right time could help change a child’s confidence, development, and future sparked a deep passion for helping children and families feel understood, supported, and hopeful about what is possible.

Throughout her career, Ruby has had the privilege of supporting countless children and families to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve meaningful goals in everyday life. Alongside this work came a growing awareness of the families falling through the gaps. Families unable to afford therapy, unable to access the NDIS, or living in rural and remote communities were often left without the support needed during some of the most important years of a child’s development.

There was also a clear need for connection and community, with many families navigating disability feeling isolated in their experiences. This shaped a strong commitment to creating spaces where families can come together, feel understood, and share their journey with others who truly get it.

Believe and Achieve Child and Family Foundation was created from the belief that no child should miss out on essential support because of cost, postcode, diagnosis, or circumstance. At its heart, the foundation exists to make sure families feel seen, supported, and never alone while navigating the challenges of raising a child with additional needs.

Our Mission

Believe and Achieve Child and Family Foundation Ltd exists to create a future where every child has access to the support needed to grow, connect, participate, and thrive, regardless of diagnosis, financial circumstances, postcode, culture, or access to the NDIS.

The foundation is committed to breaking down the barriers that prevent children and families from receiving early intervention and therapeutic support during the years it matters most. Too many families are left navigating long waitlists, financial pressure, complex systems, and limited local services while trying to do everything possible to support a child. Believe and Achieve Child and Family Foundation was created to help change that.

Through accessible, family centred, trauma informed, and neuro-affirming supports, the foundation aims to strengthen confidence, wellbeing, independence, participation, and connection for children and families across everyday life. This includes supporting vulnerable families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and families living in rural and remote areas where access to services can be limited or non existent.

The foundation believes no child should miss out on essential support because a family cannot afford therapy, does not meet funding criteria, or struggles to navigate systems such as the NDIS. Every child deserves the opportunity to feel included, capable, understood, and supported to reach full potential.

At its heart, the mission is about ensuring families feel seen, supported, and never alone while walking the journey of raising a child with additional needs.

How we Support

Believe and Achieve Child and Family Foundation Ltd provides early intervention, therapeutic, and family centred supports designed to meet children and families where they are, and to make access to care more equitable, practical, and meaningful.

Services include occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychology support, alongside individual early intervention programs tailored to each child’s developmental needs. The foundation also provides group therapy programs that build connection, regulation, social confidence, and peer interaction in supportive environments.

Parent and carer support is a core focus, recognising that families need community, support, acceptance and connection while navigating complex systems and daily challenges. This includes support groups, education and coaching for families raising children with disability, a history of trauma, developmental delay, or additional needs.

The foundation also supports school readiness programs, developmental screening and assessments, autism assessments, and pathways to paediatric care, helping families access the right supports earlier and with less stress.

Community based supports include supported play spaces and inclusive playground programs designed to build participation and confidence in everyday environments. For families in rural and remote areas, outreach services are delivered to improve access to care where local services may be limited or unavailable.

At its core, the foundation brings together therapy, assessment, and community connection to ensure children and families are supported in a way that is accessible, culturally safe, and grounded in real life needs.
